Go Angling. Munnar has a High Range Anglers' Association from where one can obtain permission for this sport. Grab your rod and reel and head to the hill streams and rivers for a spot of fishing. This pleasant activity is one that even the youngest family members will enjoy. Fly fishing for trout is a viable option here and for more information speak to the tourist offices in town. Note It?s often a good idea to bring your own rod and tackle when visiting, though you can buy or rent gear on arrival.
The finest Trout fishing is done at Gravel banks, which is tucked in a remote corner of Nymakad Estate along the Eravikulam Park after the tourist zone. Offered only to KDHP guests. Horse Riding
Horse Riding is a great sport for the whole family and the hills/valleys and bridle paths around Munnar offer some of the best horse riding countryside to be found anywhere. Not only is horse riding a great way to keep fit, but it also offers a wonderful viewing platform from which to survey the surrounding countryside. Golf
Golfing enthusiasts won?t be disappointed in the district of Munnar as a very picturesque course can be found about 20 km from Munnar in Kundala a picturesque town on the way to Top Station. Golfers will find this their paradise; set amidst sylvan surroundings the course maintained by Kundale club is a lush nine-hole course. Offered only to KDHP guests. The Golf Course belongs to Tata Tea Ltd. (KDHP) and the artificial dam near here is another attraction. The Aruvikkad Waterfall is also near Kundala. The club is placed at clearing on the way to Munnar- Kodiakanal. The road almost abandoned after 10 km from the club, which is only accessible by highly rigid vehicles, which is short road to Kodai by almost 90 km, quite treacherous, but we are sure of some game. There is another course in the centre of town too, also considered worth while.
Highrange Club Flanked by the Muthirapuzha river the club with its colonial ambience and old world charms is ensconced in sylvan surrounding which is the main meeting point of the local planters as it is near the Munnar township. It offers a 9-hole golf course and 2-tennis court, an indoor squash court, well-stocked library, and a large collection of shikar trophies and other relics from its hoary past.

If you like long-ish drives?trundle out to Thekkady about 100km or so from Munnar and you will be able to partake in this wonderfully pleasant pastime and sit astride one of the world?s largest animals, the gentle giants of the jungle, an elephant. Plod along jungle paths and feel on top of the world from the lofty height of a pachyderm?s back. It?s an experience not to be missed and another that the whole family can enjoy.
